Today's Story Highlights

Twitter Slashes Workforce as Dorsey Aims to Restore Confidence
Investors cheered after Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey's announcement to cut up
to 336 jobs, or 8 percent of the global workforce, as part of an effort
to strengthen long-term growth. Dorsey, the company cofounder who last
week reclaimed his former position as chief executive, announced the
painful round of cuts in a memo to employees, emphasizing plans to
monetize the company's core product offerings.

Facebook Tinkers With M-Commerce Tools
Facebook has added several new features designed to encourage m-
commerce. One of them, Canvas, aims to improve mobile ad delivery. It
isn't that people flat-out dislike ads on Facebook. However, Facebook's
ad delivery service has suffered from the redirect. Canvas is designed
to plug the conversion leak. With Canvas, a click quickly produces an
assortment of a merchant's products in a native ad.

Southwest Heaves Sigh of Relief as Customer Service Returns to Normal
Southwest Airlines on Monday announced it was operating on a normal
schedule after technical problems delayed hundreds of flights on Sunday.
A computer glitch related to the technical systems that powered its
customer service operations -- specifically in its reservation system --
apparently was to blame. Southwest teams worked throughout the night to
solve the problem, the airline said.
