HPE to Buy One-Time Rising Star Nimble for $1B Cash
Hewlett Packard Enterprise has inked a deal to acquire flash storage
firm Nimble Storage, once viewed as a darling of Wall Street, for $12.50
a share in cash, or $1 billion. HPE also agreed to assume or pay out
Nimble Storage's unvested equity awards, which are valued at $200
million. Upon completion of the deal, Nimble Storage will merge with a
unit of HPE and become a subsidiary of the company.

Online Trust Alliance Launches IoT Security Campaign
The Online Trust Alliance is calling on businesses, consumers and
government to share responsibility for ensuring that Internet of Things
devices are not weaponized, outlining actions that businesses, consumers
and government can take to ensure the security and privacy of IoT
devices. It calls for a campaign to have retailers and consumers reject
IoT products that pose a security threat.

Salesforce, IBM Kick Off New Artificial Intelligence Era
Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff and IBM CEO Ginni Rometty on Monday
announced a global strategic partnership to deliver joint solutions
leveraging artificial intelligence. Einstein, the AI that powers
Salesforce applications, will be connected seamlessly with IBM's Watson
AI platform. The integration is scheduled for availability in the second
half, and pricing will be announced at that time.

Nintendo Fans Get Their Hands on the Switch
Nintendo's Switch made its debut at retail stores on Friday in one of
the gaming industry's most anticipated product launches. The console,
which retails for $299.99, is Nintendo's attempt to revolutionize the
industry by offering a device that can provide interactive gaming
quality and control whether on the big screen at home, or in a multitude
of settings requiring portability.

After Blowout IPO, Is Snap a Keeper?
Shares of Snapchat owner Snap Inc. soared higher on Friday, following
Thursday's successful initial public offering. After debuting at $17.00
on the New York Stock Exchange, Snap shares rose 44 percent to $24.48 on
Thursday, well above analyst expectations, placing the company's value
at $28 billion. The stock continued to trend upward on Friday, trading
at $27.16 by mid-day.

FCC Reverses Course on Internet Privacy Rules
The Federal Communications Commission and the Federal Trade Commission
on Tuesday issued a joint statement following the FCC's temporary stay
of data security regulations. FCC Chairman Ajit Pai and FTC Acting
Chairman Maureen K. Ohlhausen issued the statement to address the FCC's
decision, in essence, to overturn rules designed to bolster broadband
consumer privacy.

YouTube has jumped headfirst into the growing market for live streaming
television with the announcement of YouTube TV, a service aimed squarely
at cord cutters. The $35-a-month service will offer live sitcoms,
dramas, news and sports from ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, ESPN, CW, Telemundo and
other networks. It will include local TV stations offering news and

How Deeply Could Bribery Scandal Wound Samsung?
South Korean prosecutors on Tuesday indicted Samsung head Lee Jae-yong
and four other executives on bribery and embezzlement charges, following
a lengthy investigation into Lee's ties with impeached president Park
Geun-hye and her confidant, Choi Soon-sil. Charges against Lee, vice
chairman of Samsung Group, include pledging bribes to organizations tied
to Choi.

tries to identify the small portion of factors that are responsible for
the majority of business results. You know -- 80 percent of profits come
from 20 percent of the customer base, and similar observations. Vilfredo

Snap Sells Itself as Camera Company as IPO Nears
As it approaches its IPO, Snap, maker of the popular Snapchat messaging
app, is positioning itself as a camera company. "We feel like we're
really at the beginning of what cameras can do," said Snap CEO Evan
Spiegel. "Before, cameras were the best way to perfectly save or record
something that you saw. They sort of helped augment memory -- but now,
you know, cameras augment the way that we talk."
