Today's Story Highlights

BlackBerry Makes a Leap in the Dark
BlackBerry introduced its new Leap smartphone at the Mobile World
Congress in Barcelona, Spain. Equipped with a touchscreen rather than a
physical keyboard, the Leap is a successor to BlackBerry's Z3 model. Its
enhanced security and performance features are designed to appeal to
young professionals and startup companies. BlackBerry is counting on the
Leap to help it bounce back.

What the Buyer Sees
Partner Relationship Management gives a lot of attention to the vendor
and partner relationship, and it should. But it's worth remembering that
as important as this relationship is, the one that really counts
involves an end customer. So what does the end customer need from a
channel partner that a PRM system can uniquely provide? I'd say the most
important partner deliverable is intangible -- trust.

Just Showing Up Won't Capture Federal Cloud Business
The observation that "80 percent of life is just showing up," generally
attributed to comedian Woody Allen, has morphed into the admonition that
"80 percent of success is just showing up." However, it appears that
vendors who just show up with a generalized approach to marketing cloud
technology to federal government agencies likely won't attract much
business.
