| Tesla will begin the first Model 3 deliveries this month, and meanwhile SpaceX is busier than ever. That and more in The Daily Crunch for July 3, 2017. 1. Tesla's first Model 3 deliveries will start July 28 Tesla's Model 3 is coming very soon, it turns out – full scale production is kicking off on Friday, and the first 30 should be delivered to early customers by July 28. The target for production by end of year is 20,000 Model 3 vehicles, which is a lot relative to Tesla's current totals. As Model 3 output scales, the key will be ensuring high quality: This is the first time Tesla is targeting real mass-market scale, so it will likely be a learning process. 
2. Musk's other company makes history Elon Musk's other main concern, SpaceX, made some history today – its first reused Dragon capsule to visit the ISS safely returned to Earth. This particular spacecraft first flew in 2014, and its re-use means SpaceX has come closer to making its vision of totally reusable space transportation a reality. 3. But SpaceX also aborted a launch It's not all good news for SpaceX; the company was planning a launch for Sunday evening, but it was aborted with 10 seconds left in the countdown. The computer system automatically triggered the abort, and the company will reset the launch, with its next window today at 7:37 PM EDT. Not a huge deal, but hopefully all goes smoothly with the next attempt. 4. 500 Startups admits to keeping international partner in the dark about Dave McClure harassment investigation After 500 Startups said it had quietly moved founder Dave McClure out of the CEO role after an internal investigation found he had engaged in harassing behavior, some pointed out that he had travelled to Australia very recently seemingly in a professional capacity. 500 now says they failed to disclose this to their Australian partners, adding another wrinkle to this unfolding situation. 5. Amazon wraps up acquisition of Middle East commerce platform Souq Amazon has acquired Souq, a Middle Eastern competitor, for $850 million in cash. The deal helps Amazon shore up a market where it hasn't had significant purchase from its primary platform, giving it more global reach. 6. UK data regulator says Google's DeepMind deal with NHS broke privacy law DeepMind, the AI company acquired by Alphabet, has been found to have violated UK privacy laws in its original deal with the UK's National Health Service (NHS). This could be a significant setback for the partnership, which seeks to use UK patient health data to build effective health care-focused AI software services. 7.
