Apple Doubles Down on the Enterprise With Cisco Deal
Apple on Monday announced a partnership with Cisco that bolsters its
commitment to the enterprise. Under the deal, Cisco will optimize its
networks for iOS devices and apps, and the companies will integrate
Apple's iPhone with Cisco enterprise environments. The alliance also
will provide "unique collaboration" on the iPhone and iPad, the
companies said.

Autumn is coming, and it's time for county fair fun with candy apples,
fried dough and the midway. You remember the game whac-a-mole? As the
moles popped up through holes on the table, it was your job to whack
them before they disappeared. Now, every time another Windows 10
reminder pops up on my screen, all I want to do is grab a mallet and
start whacking!

Intel's Big, Bold Skylake Family Bows
Intel on Tuesday introduced its long-awaited 6th Generation Core family,
which will include 48 processors. The launch coincides with the
migration to Windows 10, which became generally available at the end of
July. With Moore's Law in question, Intel finally made a breakthrough in
transitioning from 22nm dies down to 14nm. It took the company about
four years to do it.

White House Wants Feedback on IT Contract Security
Cybersecurity is a key component of all contracts between U.S.
government agencies and information technology vendors. Yet
cyberbreaches continue to occur -- some of them with alarming scope and
depth. The White House is seeking input from private sector vendors and
others on how to improve the cybersecurity elements involved in federal
government purchases of IT equipment and services.
