Adblock Plus Now Means Ad Blocking Plus Ads
Adblock Plus, together with partner ComboTag, on Tuesday launched the
beta version of the Acceptable Ads Platform. AA is an interactive
platform that pre-whitelists ads publishers and bloggers then can place
on their sites. It will only contain only ads that abide by AA's
criteria for size and labeling, and their placement will be governed by
the AA rules.

Microsoft Dynamics Edges Out Salesforce, Oracle for HP Win
Just two months after announcing the integration of its CRM and ERP
platform under the Microsoft Dynamics 365 umbrella, Microsoft this week
announced a six-year agreement to deploy the service to HP Inc.'s ranks.
Under the agreement, HP will deploy the Microsoft Dynamics platform --
including Azure, Office 365 and other solutions -- to tens of thousands
of its employees.

Alphabet Think Tank Spearheads Online Counterterrorism Campaign
Alphabet think tank Jigsaw and startup Moonshot CVE last week
demonstrated a new counterterrorism technology tool. The groups have
been collaborating to steer social media users away from terrorist
propaganda. They have developed sophisticated algorithms to target
potential ISIS sympathizers with counter narratives when they search for
certain terms online or through social media.

A common perception of business agility is that it revolves around
quickness, especially quickness in the service of accelerating a deal or
transaction. That's a good starting point, but agility actually goes

Samsung Catches a Small Break in Midst of Note 7 Battery Pummeling
Samsung stock recovered slightly on Tuesday from the nosedive it took
Monday, after regulators urged consumers to turn in more than 2.5
million Galaxy Note 7 smartphones. Shares closed 4.2 percent higher on
Tuesday, erasing some of Monday's $14 billion loss in market value. The
FAA's alert came in response to a small number of reports of the phone's
lithium ion batteries catching fire.

Why do companies invest in CRM, sales performance management software,
business intelligence, and every other component of the customer-facing
technology stack? The obvious response is ROI. CRM paid back $8.71 for
every dollar invested in it, Nucleus Research reported way back in 2014.
Business analytics applications were delivering $13.01 in value for
every buck spent on them.

Feds Seek Vendor Help for Payroll Processing Upgrade
Technology vendors that support the different missions of U.S.
government agencies may have a major opportunity to provide innovative
IT assistance for a task that is common to all: preparing the payroll
for 2.3 million federal workers. The GSA and the OPM have been sifting
through responses from IT vendors on a joint RFI on significantly
upgrading federal payroll processing.

Amazon Drops Wells Fargo Student Loan Program Like Hot Potato
Amazon and Wells Fargo Education Financial Services this week suddenly
ended a partnership to offer low-cost loans to college students, less
than six weeks after announcing the program. Wells Fargo, the largest
lender of private student loans among all U.S. commercial banks, had
offered a 0.50 percent discount to Amazon Prime Student customers under
the partnership.

Dropbox Drops Other Shoe in Years-Old Data Breach
Dropbox has confirmed that more than 68 million emails and passwords
have been compromised from a hack that originally was disclosed in 2012.
Exposure from the breach was limited to email addresses, Dropbox
originally claimed. However, the hackers actually stole hashed and
salted passwords. Even so, there have been no indications that they
succeeded in accessing user accounts, the company said.

It's surprising how much inaccurate data lives in many CRM systems,
observed Eric Esfahanian, SVP of Gryphon Networks. "CRM is naturally a
good source for analytics and sales intelligence if the data that lives
within your CRM is automated, accurate, and something that you can
reliably make decisions from," he said, and the key to accuracy is
automation.
