Today's Story Highlights

Malvertisers Poison Yahoo's Ad Network
Yahoo's ad network suffered an attack that lasted for almost a week,
Malwarebytes reported mid-day Monday. Malwarebytes earlier notified
Yahoo of the attacks, which began July 28. Yahoo had stopped them by the
time the report was published. The attackers used the Angler Exploit
Kit, described as highly sophisticated, to redirect visitors to ad sites
on two Microsoft Azure domains.

AT&T to DirecTV Customers: Let's Stick Together
AT&T on Monday announced its first-ever nationwide package of TV and
wireless services. The new bundle, which is being offered for US$200 per
month, will be available beginning Aug. 10. It will include HD and DVR
service for up to four TV receivers, along with unlimited talk and text
for four wireless lines. Subscribers to the plan will get 10 GB of
shareable wireless data.

The Cloud's Open Source Seeds Are Growing Strong
Open source seeded the cloud, 451 Research found five years ago -- and
those seeds have grown. Open source now plays an even more prevalant and
important role -- not only in cloud computing, but also in other,
related areas, such as big data, DevOps and application containers. One
can consider any layer of cloud computing -- Infrastructure as a
Service, for example -- and see the impact.

Glass Is Back, and This Time It's All Business
A reinvigorated and redesigned Glass reportedly has been sighted in the
enterprise sector. Google earlier this year closed down the Glass
Explorer program, proclaiming that the augmented reality wearable was
"graduating" from the company's clandestine Google X labs to a brand-new
division of its own. Since then, Google has offered vague reassurances
from time to time that the product was not dead.
