You should watch this very good movie. It's The Daily Crunch.

THE DAILY CRUNCH
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 16 2018 By Darrell Etherington

Marvel's The Black Panther is all that matters this weekend, the HomePod gets a coaster companion and Snapchat is sticking with its unpopular redesign. All that and more in The Daily Crunch for February 16, 2018.

1. Marvel's Black Panther is the new best superhero movie

Anthony wrote this, but I wish I wrote it, because it's true. It's admittedly not the techiest tech news of the day, but it's way more important that whatever ICO is going on or whatever garbage.

Truly, this movie is fantastic and you should go see it immediately if you have not. Even (especially?) if you don't like, or are tired of Marvel movies.

2. You can buy a $20 coaster for your $349 Apple HomePod

But actually, please buy neither. There are better connected speakers and some of them don't even ruin your wood furniture.

3. Snap CEO says the Snapchat redesign isn't going anywhere

So the redesign that seems almost universally hated is staying put. I think the more pertinent question is how long Snapchat itself will be around, let alone its UI redesign.

4. A new startup will take stem cells from placentas

They're chasing that old eternal life carrot. As has every generation forever always in one way or another. Humans: We'll never get used to the idea of dying.

5. This French guy wants device neutrality in addition to the net version

Net neutrality doesn't go far enough, according to France's telecom regulator. He thinks, and his government has proposed, that devices should get off on even footing too, with universally uninstallable apps and fewer lock-in services and software features.

6. Equity! Podcast!

It's the best podcast about that financial startup stuff there ever was. Ever. Of all time. And this week, Mike Ghaffary from Social Capital joins the intrepid TC team.
