Facebook shut down Russian APT28 trolls before the 2016 U.S. election Mark Zuckerberg is testifying before Congress today, but the company has already released his prepared remarks. One of the most interesting tidbits: Facebook has been fighting Russian election interference since before the 2016 U.S. presidential race. "Leading up to Election Day in November 2016, we detected and dealt with several threats with ties to Russia," Zuckerberg said. (Will say?) "This included activity by a group called APT28, that the U.S. government has publicly linked to Russian military intelligence services. " 
2. Walmart partners with Postmates on grocery delivery Postmates will initially begin Walmart Online Grocery Delivery in Charlotte, North Carolina with plans to reach other markets in the months ahead. 3. Apple says its global facilities are now powered by 100-percent clean energy This is in line with the company's 2015 plan to push toward 100-percent renewable energy. As of today, the company's officially adding retail stores, offices and co-located facilities to the list of renewable-powered facilities. 4. FIDO Alliance and W3C have a plan to kill the password The major browser makers including Google, Mozilla and Microsoft have all agreed to incorporate the final version of the protocol, which allow websites to bypass the pesky password in favor of an external authenticator such as a security key or you mobile phone. 5. Google and Netflix team up to launch a new open source canary analysis tool Like the name implies, canary analysis is an early warning system that is all about preventing major issues when you roll out an update to a service or your infrastructure. 6. First look at Instagram Nametags, its clone of Snapchat QR codes We've written about Nametags before, but this is the first time we've gotten some screenshots of the feature. 7.
