Elon Musk confirms that he's working with Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund, DNC lawyers use Twitter to subpoena WikiLeaks and we got our hands on Samsung's Galaxy Note 9. Here's your Daily Crunch for August 13, 2018.

1. Elon Musk confirms his bid to take Tesla private, backed by Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund

The saga of Musk's efforts to take Tesla private continues. Today he's published a statement claiming that he has been talking to the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund about taking the company private for almost two years.

Musk says he left his most recent meeting "with no question that a deal with the Saudi sovereign fund could be closed, and that it was just a matter of getting the process moving," which is why he later tweeted that funding had been secured.

5. Netflix CFO David Wells to step down

Wells has been with Netflix for 14 years, and has served as CFO since 2010.

6. Founder Zain Jaffer may be looking to take back control of Vungle

In fact, we've already spoken to one investor who says they're on-board to help Jaffer regain control of the mobile ad company he founded.

7. A song in your heart, a podcast in your earbuds

On the latest episode of TechCrunch's Equity podcast, the team discusses Slack's big funding round. Meanwhile, on Original Content we offer our initial impressions of Disenchantment, the new Netflix show from Simpsons creator Matt Groening
